Hannes Wolf delivered a first professional hat trick on Sunday, scoring three goals to lead New York City FC past the Columbus Crew 3-0 at Yankee Stadium. Wolf found the net in the 12th, 16th, and 66th minutes, ending NYCFC’s seven-match winless run and securing the team’s first victory since March 14.

Wolf, who missed NYCFC’s previous match due to injury and was limited to a substitute role last week, returned to the starting lineup in dominant fashion. He opened the scoring after a quick four-pass sequence, with Agustín Ojeda feeding him a pass after shaking off defender Rudy Camacho. Wolf doubled the lead just four minutes later, finishing from close range off a Nicolás Fernández assist, and completed his hat trick in the 66th minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, again set up by Fernández.
The hat trick was the seventh in MLS this season and the eighth in NYCFC history. Fernández recorded three assists, while Nico Cavallo and Ojeda each added one. Goalkeeper Matt Freese made two saves in his 100th career MLS regular-season start, earning his second clean sheet
