The supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich convened on Monday but made no definitive decisions regarding the contracts of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, sporting director Max Eberl, and sports director Christoph Freund. All three executives have agreements that run until the summer of 2027, yet according to reports, the board did not address their future during this meeting.
The primary reason stems from club statutes, which stipulate that contract extensions can only be formally discussed one year before expiration. This means Dreesen, Eberl, and Freund must continue to wait for clarity on whether the club intends to retain them beyond 2027.
Sources indicate that the influential supervisory board, led by chairman Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß, prefers to give all parties sufficient time before reaching a conclusion. The next scheduled meeting is set for the summer, when concrete decisions are expected.
Instead of personnel matters, the committee focused on the club’s strategic direction and potential squad composition for the upcoming season. Transfer discussions also took place, but they remained preliminary without any concrete actions.
Notably, Alexander Sixt attended the meeting for the first time. The 46-year-old recently assumed the role of chairman of the administrative board and, as a “born member,” has now joined the supervisory board of the AG.
